Barack Obama Will State His Case for More Troops in Afghanistan to the American Public from the United States Military at West Point
Will America and Congress Support the President on This Issue?
I wrote an article detailing some of the plans previously and will provide a link to review it. The basics are that his top General McCrystal has said that he needs forty five thousand troops but Barack Hussein Obama will only give him thirty or thirty five thousand despite advice from his military commanders. He has mentioned that he has plans to have troops out of Afghanistan by 2011. Advisors have hypothesized that we will still be training forces in Afghanistan until 2016.
One News Man mentioned that running for President and actually doing the job are two totally different things. They are not as easy as I think that Barack Hussein Obama and many supporters thought that it would be. There is a reason that many top democrats initially were vehemently against Obama being president. The problem is that since the Democratic Party panders to the black vote so much it is really hard to be critical of a black candidate like Obama without looking racist. Now people like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are easy for major primary candidates to discredit. With Obama much of the issues with him did not come to light in time for people to realize they created a monster.
I think that he really is not going to get much of a public image boost from this because of how much he has spoke out against the war and now is going against principles that he has stated during the campaign and coming into the Presidency. There are going to be many issues that will be the legacy of Barack Obama's Presidency. The wars in Iraq, and Afghanistan and healthcare are among the main things he will be judged on. Race relations are another key factor. I don't think there is an easy answer to the question of the war, but I do think that it will not be as simple as some people want to believe. We don't want more and more troops killed or be there forever. We also can't cut and run as that would make us vulnerable
