His message was well received and gained thunderous applause from the crowd, which was filled with supporters and North Carolina Central University students. Obama even made a light-hearted quip regarding the candidate running against Durham Mayor Bill Bell, who is currently up for re-election. Mayor Bell took the time to show his support and endorse Obama's bid for the Presidential position. Holding a high regard for the fact that Obama has spoken out against the war since it's started.
The senator took his time getting to the podium and greeted supporters while the ban played for him. He began by thanking the mayor, other Durham supporters, and mentioning the departed former Wake County Sheriff John Baker. The crowd's diversity seemed to excite him. And, Obama spoke with the passion of a Joel Olsteen or T.D. Jakes.
Staying true to his message Obama spoke of change. A "fundamental change," that includes changing the nation's politics not just its party. Noting that we have been talking about the same things. Healthcare and dependency on oil has been a political platform for presidential candidates for the past few decades.
Using a wit and humility, Obama addressed a few of his criticisms. Speaking of the critics that feel that he is too naïve. Yet, his message of change was electric. Even so much so, that the translator for the hearing impaired seemed just as enthused as the senator, himself.
The local media coverage was present and his speech was broadcasted live on the WRAL site. Today marked the senator's third visit to the Tar Heel state. And, despite being in Democratic rival John Edwards' backyard, Obama garnished a warm reception. Although he made no mention of Edwards, he did differentiate himself from Senator Clinton, by voicing their difference of opinion when it comes to negotiating with the country's enemies.
With a genial disposition, Senator Obama sparked hope through his message of change. And as customary with, he laced his ideas of hope and change with a call to action.

WASHINGTON - Obama's support among Democrats nationally has softened.
"GLORK" Sen. Barack Obama's support among Democrats nationally has softened over the last month, particularly among men and upper-income voters, as voters have taken a slightly less positive view of him than they did after his burst of victories in February, according to the latest New York Times/CBS News poll.
The survey suggests that Mr. Obama, Democrat of Illinois, may have been at something of a peak in February, propelled by a string of primary and caucus victories over Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York, and that perceptions of him are dramatically trending downward.
Mr. Obama's favorability rating among Democratic primary voters has dropped seventeen percentage points, to 42 percent, since the last Times/CBS News survey, in late February.
THE SPEECH --
The Apologia has arrived and once again the self-indicting, separatist-racist Barack Obama AKA Barack Hussein Obama, promises to heal the wounds of the world. The speech is the rude awakening of mass messianism of his campaign. Apologetically, Obama the MUSLIM double-cross X-boX-BorraX has an astonishingly empty two-prawn echelon explanation of his misjudgment.
In the first prawn: with regard to his connection to separatist-racist Rev. Wright; Obama summons voodoo and juju to express slavery as beginning and ending with the Rev. Wright.
In the second prawn: Obama's speech takes credit for Ashley's dream. A dream of unity Martin Luther King, Jr. borrowed from Ashley for his historic "I Have A Dream" speech. In Obama's speech, the connective bond Ashley, the elderly black man and Obama's grandmother share; represents Obama's self-indicting rise to the Harvard Yard. For Obama, the grand flag of language is the semi-fore of words, bestowed upon our nation by the messiah
Obama's efforts to connect to the Republican Party, specifically Bush, and Dick Chaney, of the Halliburton Company, dates back to the Presidents Grandfather, Prescott Bush, and indeed Chaney was once an executive officer of Halliburton.
The American military pounds Iraq with Artillary, bombs, and the like, destroying large sections of cities, and infra-structures, then Halliburton comes in to rebuild. Halliburton and Halliburton associated companies have raked in ten's of billions.
Obama is just like the BIG HALIBURTAN. Haliburton has contracted to build detention centers in the U.S. similiar to the one in Quantanammo Bay, Cuba. Halliburton does nothing to earn the Two Dollars for each meal an American Serviceman in Iraq eats.

Halliburton was scheduled to take control of the Dubai Ports in The United Arab Emiirate. The deal was canceled when Bush was unable to affect the transfer of the American Ports.
Now we see what some might suspect
Has anyone ever wondered about his upbringing as a child to adulthood. It's no wonder he hates this country.
I have to agree with Angela Harris. He has no point to his so called messages or speeches. It's all a bunch of worded b.s.
Do not want to tear up your comments. I have seen (but not read) documents (Abode) where he has went into detail about specific plans (also do not recall what issue). The best way to learn about them is to visit his campaign website and click on Issues and follow the links. You can also check out his You Tube channel, where his campaign shares videos from the debates and his other speeches. I have checked out other candidates the same way and also visited Senate websites to learn of past actions.
But back to Obama. I read "Audacity of Hope"~written before he was considering president as a career goal~I was impressed because of his speaking of our oil dependency and ways to stop that and create new jobs at the same time. He touches on that in one of his You Tube channel videos; I think it was when he was speaking in Iowa. He is already implementing one of his ideas by refusing to accept money from large corporations for his campaign and focusing on individuals.
Lucky you to see and hear a candidate in person. Obama does have speicific plans for action. Of course all candidates make campaign promises and do not follow through. People that have time and the inclination to do so, make some funny videos showing old clips of what politicans said yesterday, added with new clips of what they say today. That is one of the great things about the Internet; who could recall last year, let alone 10 years ago.
I actually got to be in the crowd. I have to agree with a lot of your comments now that I think about it. He was a dynamic speaker. He really did hit on a lot of our nation's problems. Yet he did not specify any solutions. It's funny because you rarely think about it as you are listening to him. He seems like a great guy and I truly hope he has some ideas to back up his enthusiasm.
The more people that hear Obama's message, the better. His charisma and pragmatism is just what this country needs right now. A change is long over due.
