A loving, cherished wife and best friend of Roger, they celebrated their 30th anniversary in November 11, 2007. A caring and nurturing mother to her children and step-daughter; Sandra Schug, Stacey Staffeld, James (Crissy) Schug, Robert Schug and Dawn (Mitch) Bessette. Barbara was blessed with grandchildren, whom she deeply cherished, Nicole Schug, Darek Nash, Crystal, Tony, and Zak Staffeld, Dakota and Brennen Schug, Justin and Nathan Bessette, and her first great-grandchild; Kaynen James Muelemans.
She was the middle child, born December 1, 1949 to the late Amil Sr. and Alice Dahl and will be dearly missed by her brothers and sisters: Alice (Leonard) Kelley, Amil Jr. (Jesse) Dahl (TX), Elmer (Diane) Dahl, Richard (Lynn) Dahl, Sally (Jim) Christensen, Della (Steve) Jahnke (FL). She also has 17 nieces and nephews, and many great nieces and nephews that adored her. Barb is part of a very close family that love and support each other, as well as a large, loving extended family and many dear friends.
Although most of her life was spent in Neenah, WI, Barb and Roger moved to sunny North Port, FL in 2001. They returned to Wisconsin in August of 2007 to be with family again. While living in Wisconsin Barbara was an active volunteer and worked at the Christine Anne Shelter in Oshkosh. She enjoyed many activities including bowling, sewing, quilting, crafts, cooking, and reading mysteries. She was very proud of her teammates in shuffleboard as they often won first place. She was a wonderful woman who cared for everyone around her. Far too young and much too soon to have left us, she has touched many lives around her in Wisconsin and Florida.
Barb & Roger's children would like to extend a special thank you to Alice and Lenny Kelley for opening their home to our parents during this time; for allowing them and us to feel as comfortable in your home as if it were our parent's. For your unyielding and tireless compassion and care during this time. We cannot express the gratitude and thankfulness we feel for your generosity. We would also like to thank all of the people who came in to assist in so many ways. We would also like to thank Lenny & Alice's children; Scott (Cindy), Patty (Dave), David and their grandchildren for their compassion, caring and loving kindness during this time that we took so much of Lenny and Alice's time away from all of you.
Barbara chose to be cremated and the wake will be held at Westgor Funeral Home in Neenah on Sunday, April 13 from 4-8 pm.
Sacred Heart Catholic Church will provide the mass on Monday, April 14 at 11 am.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations in her memory to: Theda Care Hospice. Because of the wonderful kindness, compassion and care provided by hospice, Barbara was able to remain at home in peace and dignity with family through her last days. Without the compassion, care, kindness and knowledge of hospice, we would not have been able to keep her home with family. We would also like to send a special thank you to Kathy Williams of Theda Care Hospice for all her care and compassion she gave Barbara.
