Barbra Streisand and Robert Redford Reunite on the Oprah Winfrey Show

Oprah Winfrey's last season has helped her to score a coup that no one else in history has ever done. She was able to reunite Barbra Streisand and Robert Redford for their first interview ever. Barbra Streisand and Robert Redford met on the set of "The Way We Were" in 1973. Somehow, they were never interviewed together until Oprah Winfrey surprised Barbra Streisand as Barbra finished sing "The Way We Were" to a series of clips from the film.

Barbra Streisand was born in Brooklyn and entered a singing contest at the age of 18. She won the contest and went on to win an academy award for her film debut in the movie "Funny Girl" in 1968.

In 1983, Barbra Streisand made history as the first woman to produce, direct, write and star in "Yentil" and is a true living legend. Barbra admitted to Oprah Winfrey that she never intended to be a singer. She loves singing when it is just her and the music. "When I am recording with an orchestra, there is nobody judging."

Barbra Streisand was last interviewed by Oprah Winfrey in 1996. Barbra was dating, and then married, her husband of 12 years, James Brolin. Barbra considers her marriage a work in progress and thinks it is nice to have companionship. She does not like being alone.

Oprah Winfrey then surprised Barbra Streisand by showing clips of her past costars, including Jeff Bridges, Mandy Patinkin, Nick Nolte and Kris Kristofferson. Jeff Bridges remembered that she had a down-home side while Nick Nolte thought some of their scenes had gotten too real. Barbra agreed that it was a little too hot on the set at times.
