Barclays Leaderboard 2010 Already Shows Woods Struggling

The Barclays leaderboard 2010 has excited fans already. Yet the current state of the Barclays leaderboard 2010 is calmer, as Tiger Woods fell from the Barclays leaderboard yesterday afternoon. After finishing the first round on top, Woods looked to stay among the leaders yesterday, but he fell apart on the back nine. As such, he started moving day at the bottom of the top 20, trying to make one of his patented charges. By the end of today, the Barclays leaderboard 2010 would either show another glimpse of the old Woods, or prove he still has a way to go.

Thus far, the Woods from the end of yesterday has returned with a vengeance. After the first hole today, he isn't even close to charging back up the Barclays leaderboard 2010. A triple bogey on No. 1 has dropped him down to -1 overall, in a tie for 51'st.

The world's No. 1 has been on both extremes of the scale in this tournament already. On Thursday, he looked like golf's best again, as he went into the first round lead. But on yesterday's back nine, he had another tumble with four later bogeys.

On the Barclays leaderboard 2010, Woods started four shots back of leader Jason Day, as he started his third round. Four strokes was not a huge deficit, but he needed another day in the 60's to keep pace. It all depended on which Woods would show up today - and the first hole might have given the answer.

Since Woods has an even longer road ahead, his biggest goal may now be to make the top 50. By getting that much, he can play in next week's second FedEx Cup event, and build on any momentum he gets this week. So even if the Barclays leaderboard 2010 has no room for Woods, he still has a lot to play for.

While Woods is just fighting to get momentum, others still have high hopes of winning this event. Day has gotten to the top with two 67's, while Kevin Streelman moved into contention with a 63 yesterday. Stewart Cink, Padraig Harrington, Steve Stricker, Justin Rose and more are also looking to make their move up the Barclays leaderboard 2010 today.

However, those golfers will have to carry the rest of this tournament, as Woods may have just forfeited his remaining chance at a comeback win. Yet now he has to make sure this week isn't another step back, rather than the step forward it appeared to be on Thursday.
