Bare Escentuals Cosmetics

Bare Escentuals opened its first store in Los Gatos, California in 1976. It's creator and CEO Leslie Blodgett appears on the infomercials herself and demonstrates the amazing Bare minerals cosmetic line. Bare Minerals advertises that it is made from 100% pure, crushed materials and is free of preservatives, talc, oil, fragrance and other potential skin irritants. Bare Minerals claims it is feather light, and beneficial for all skin types because it will not exacerbate skin sensitivities, allergies, scars, blemishes, rosacea, wrinkles and pigmentation issues.

The concept that lured me in with the Bare Minerals make-up was that it wouldn't clog pores, creating acne issues. As a 36-year-old woman, who now struggles with acne issues, I can say that was enough to make me want to try it. Other liquid foundations that I had used in the past were always producing the "caked on" look and they felt heavy and thick. Even the liquid foundations that were advertised as non-comedogenic made my face break out with acne. After seeing the infomercial, I went online and ordered the Bare Minerals starter kit. The kit came with two shades of foundation, the bronzer or warmth and the Mineral Veil, which is the finishing powder. The kit also contained the Buki brush for complete coverage, the baby buki brush, which is the travel size brush and the regular application brush as well as a travel size cosmetic bag. I later ordered the blemish concealer brush which is magnificent.

I received the kit after only four days and immediately tried it. Just as advertised with the swirl, tap and buff method I had a radiant appearance. The powder foundation is very fine and light. With the blemish concealing brush I first apply the foundation to the dark circles under my eyes and any red areas. Then I swirl, tap and buff with the complete coverage brush and brush on foundation over my whole face. Next I use the warmth with the regular coverage brush and apply a very light touch to my forehead, cheeks, nose and chin. The warmth is not a blush, it is to make your skin appear as though you had the perfect sun kissed appearance, so naturally, anywhere the sun tends to hit your face, is where you apply the warmth. Lastly I swirl, tap and buff on the Mineral Veil to smooth it all out and create the perfect blended effect. It really only takes a few minutes and certainly is faster than applying the old liquid foundation which has to be rubbed in and smoothed out to avoid those unsightly lines around your ears and neck. Not to mention the liquid foundations clog your pores and create other skin issues.

Another thing I love about Bare Escentuals is that they also offer a complete cosmetic line including eye make up, lipstick and lip-gloss. You can purchase the eye makeup in kits that are already pre matched to ensure you have the right color combinations or purchase them separately. Bare Escentuals has a fabulous variety of colors to choose from and also have online support to get tips on how to apply your cosmetics for different looks. I was also happy to discover that they also offer skin care products which they developed with the help of MD Formulations, a company they joined with in 2001.

I have used Bare Minerals for almost two years and have been told many times by friends and strangers alike that my skin looks great! I have never experienced Bare Minerals ever making my face break out, even when I don't remove my makeup before going to bed, in fact Bare Minerals has improved my skins overall natural appearance. Another amazing thing I discovered about this wonderful foundation, is even though it is a light powder is does not come off in the rain. I live in the Pacific Northwest and around here we get 9 months of rain and 3 months of unpredictable weather. I was helping my Fiancee move some of his things from a storage facility to his garage, and of coarse it was pouring down rain. I was soaked from head to toe. I just knew I would go in the house only to discover that my make up would be blotchy or missing in areas where the rain had run down my face. I was amazed to find that my makeup was still as flawless as when I had first applied it that morning! Bare Minerals is fantastic and I will never buy another liquid foundation again.

The product line is vast and has everything a woman could possibly need for an outstanding appearance. You can purchase the starter kit online at http://www.bareescentuals.com for only $59.98, which is a great price considering I paid twice that when I ordered my starter kit almost two years ago. In addition to the price being so reasonable for such an outstanding and almost magic; in my opinion; makeup you can pay for it in two payments!! I highly recommend you try Bare Minerals, if you do I am almost certain you will never try another cosmetic foundation again.
