Bare Escentuals Sweeps the Readers' Choice in the Total Beauty Awards

The website www.TotalBeauty.com just released their list of 57 product winners in the categories of hair, skin and body, and makeup. For each product type (lipstick, foundation, etc.) there are two awards, the Editors' pick, and the Readers' Choice, for which we all could vote in March (if you missed it this year, be sure to visit the website next month, so that you can vote on your choice from the ten products in each category the editors have chosen as the best of their kind.)

Out of the 16 make-up subcategories, with two winners for each, the most awards (six, total) went to Bare Escentuals, the most popular mineral make-up company in the US. Other awards were given to many different companies, from Neutragena to Nars, and CoverGirl to Clinique, but none of the others won more than two, counting both Editor's Pick and Readers' Choice. So take a look at the Bare Escentuals winners.

It will come as no surprise to Bare Escentuals junkies that the Readers' Choice for Foundation was Bare Escentuals i.d. bareMinerals 2-piece Powder Foundation and brush (Flawless Face Brush shown), with SPF 15. It's pictured here with the Readers' Choice winner for powder (open): Bare Escentuals bareMinerals Mineral Veil (shown in the tub o'mineral veil size!). The best tool, again Readers' Choice, is the Bare Escentuals Baby Buki Brush.

The best lipgloss according to the Editors' Pick is Neutragena MoistureShine LipSheers, but the voting readers chose Bare Escentuals Buxom Big and Healthy Lip Shine, shown in the second photo in Trixie (pink) and Bunny (coral), and I'm not arguing too much (although I'd have voted for Smashbox Lip Enhancing Gloss if they'd made the top 10). The Readers' Choice Highlighter/Multi-tasker is the Bare Escentuals bareMinerals All-Over Face Color, pictured in Bare Radiance and Soft Focus Glee.

The last award won by Bare Escentuals was their bareMinerals Multi-Tasking Concealer (the one that started its life as "Bisque" mineral eye shadow and now comes in several shades - Honey Bisque, Original Bisque, etc.). I don't have one of those to show you, because I used mine all up. But the folks at Bare Escentuals should be happy with their dedicated users, because winning six Readers' Choice awards in the Total Beauty contest is quite an accomplishment!
