Bargain Movies at Winchester's Delco Theater

$2 Movies Exist in Winchester, Virginia

Mike Spain
The Delco Cinemas have to be one of the best movie bargains in the Shenandoah Valley , Where else in Winchester , Virginia can you see a movie for $2? At the Delco Cinemas I can take a family of four to the movies for less than the price of one adult admission at another movie theater.

The movies are not first run releases. The movies showing are nearing the end of their theater runs and are due to be released on DVD soon. Still the movie prices are a bargain for anyone looking to catch a movie in a theater before it is too late. We were looking for a theater still showing "Tangled" when we stumbled on Delco Theater. My wife really wanted to take our daughter to see that movie. So, I searched the internet and found the bargain theater.

Delco Advantages

The theaters are big. The seats are comfortable but standard seats. The concessions were reasonably priced with free refills on popcorn. The staff was friendly and courteous. The theater was also family friendly. Even the restrooms were clean. Everyone in my party had a great time. We all enjoyed an inexpensive night out at the movies.

Delco Disadvantages

The Delco Theater only has two movie screens. The movies are not first run shows and choices are limited to two movies. However, the price takes care of the disadvantages.

Location

The Delco Theater is located at:

170-9 Delco Plaza

Winchester , Virginia

The theater is located right off of interstate 81, an easy drive from Hagerstown , Martinsburg, and Front Royal.

Conclusion

The Delco Theater is a welcome alternative to the expensive chain theaters. The theater may not have modern stadium seating or the newest films. However, the theater does have bargain prices and a family friendly atmosphere conveniently located near I-81. A movie for $2 is quite a bargain in today's economy.

I'm still sick today, but I figure I can handle copying and pasting comments to get some returned.

I think you pays your money and you takes your choice, as Popeye would have said. When I lived in Indiana and Florida we also had local Dollar Theaters (probably $2 now also) that showed movies that were likewise towards the end of their run, or reruns. The sound and atmosphere was never as good as the newer theaters, and some of the seats in a couple were broken, so it was best to arrive early to be sure of enough decent seats together, but I agree, for the price you can't beat it, especially if you are taking younger children.

Good to know there are still bargain movies, as expensive as mainstream theaters are.
