Children's Orchard is the perfect place to find baby gear as well. When I found out I was pregnant with my son I was a little overwhelmed at the high cost of necessary items like strollers, bouncers and changing tables. My friend told me about a stroller that she got at the Children's Orchard for around $30. So I thought it was worth a look. We were able to find most of the things we needed to prepare for the new baby and paid much less than we would have even getting items on sale at a store. Plus no one would ever guess that the items are not new.
The store is very clean and very well organized. It is easy to find the size you are looking for, which makes it easy to check to see if they have what you need before going to a more expensive store. The staff is also really friendly. In fact, one of the times I went shopping, I came out, loaded my kid in the car got in and it wouldn't start. The battery was dead. I went back into Children's Orchard and asked if I could borrow a phone (of all days to forget my cell phone it had to be the day my battery dies). They gladly let me. I tried calling a few people and only got answering machines. The lady behind the counter was kind enough to ask what the problem was. After I told her she said that her husband had some jumper cables and may be able to get my car running so I could get home. Her husband took care of it and I was able to head home.
Children's Orchard also offers a discount club. When you join you get a $5 cache card, news about special events and gifts for your kids on their birthdays. This is also a wonderful place if you are wanting to get rid of stuff but don't want to go through the hassle of a garage sale. They will buy your gently used items and even donate the ones they cannot buy and provide you with a tax receipt. Not a bad deal for getting rid of items you can no longer use.
