Barking Hill Country Club - Where All the Well-Behaved Dogs Have Gone

Barking Hills Country Club, located at 1271 Route 22E, Lebanon, New Jersey, offers dog owners the opportunity to take classes with their dogs, including puppies. While at this facility, "dogs and owners learn, work and play" as they participate in many activities.

Activities or Classes

Activities or classes offered at Barking Hills Country Club are divided into 3 categories: Puppy, Dogs and Continuing Education. Puppy classes are for puppies that are under 5 months of age before the classes begin. Puppies can be enrolled in Puppy Kindergarten, Puppy Playgroup, Puppy/Small Dog Agility, Housetraining Help, Canine Troubleshooting and Calming the Crazy Canine. Dogs can be enrolled in Basic Obedience for the Family Pet, Canine Troubleshooting,, Calming the Crazy Canine, Real World Recalls, A Walk in the Park, Silence is Golden, Canine Good Citizen Prep Class and Canine Good Citizen Certification. Continuing Education offers Introduction to Canine Body Language, Leader of the Pack, Understanding and Managing Canine Stress, K9 Nose Work, Rally Novice, Rally Advanced and Rally Coursework.

Barking Hills Country Club also offers "Fun Series" of classes. These classes include Canine Country Line Dancing, Card Tricks for Dogs and Other Games, Skateboarding and Bowling for Biscuits.

Rules

Barking Hills Country Club has a few rules that must be obeyed for the good of all that attend the classes offered. These rules are not hard to understand and are easy to remember. First of all, clean up after your dog. This rule should be easy to understand. Next, exercise your dog and allow it to go to the bathroom in the area that is designated for that, no where else, and again, clean up after your dog. Another rule at Barking Hills Country Club is that all dogs must wear either a martingale, limited slip or greyhound type collar and they must have their ID on at all times and they must be on a leash that is no longer than six feet. When handling your dog, only one person can be the dog's handler and that person will be the handler throughout the classes the dog is enrolled in. Also, handlers must be at least 14 years old and they must wear rubber soled shoes and no sandals or open-backed shoes. Family members, of the human kind, can be spectators to the classes and handlers should not let their dog approach any of the other dogs that are at the facility, especially if they are wearing a red bandana which indicates that the dog does not like other dogs.
