Barnabas Collins, Step Aside, Because This Pumpkin Ale is Gonna Bite Ya Where it Hurts so Good: A Review of Michigan Screamin' Pumpkin Spiced Ale from Michigan Brewing Co
Michigan Brewing Co.
Webberville, MI
The first in a mixed six of pumpkin beers that I am trying this one is a confetti of spices as the bottle art would indicate. Or that of a mass murderer's mugshot. There is howling cinnamon within the orange walls of this liquid asylum, monster amounts of nutmeg and allspice and a faint apparition of pumpkin flavorings reminiscent of the taste of your grand-moomoo's bespeckled punky pie.
Scant pumpkin flavorings or not this one has an iridescent glow and lights up the glass like a jack-o-lantern irregardless of its light source. Boo ya ye gambrinous ones and drink up because the Dark Shadows are all around thee and some vampire of the dusky night might swoop in and drink your blood before you can drink the pumpkin's virile essence.
