Barney Stinson is played by Neil Patrick Harris. Barney is a know-it-all, good at everything guy on the popular CBS show "How I Met Your Mother." He claims he is the main character's best friend. They met one day at the bar. Barney was going to help Ted meet women. Barney wears a suit at all times, except at funerals because suits are happy clothes. I will take an in-depth look at Neil Patrick Harris's character.

Barney Stinson is the kind of guy that fathers try to protect their daughters from. He is the king of the one night stand. He loves the bachelor lifestyle. Take for example his apartment. In his bedroom is a king size bed with one pillow and a twin bed blanket. In the hallway is his library of adult movies with professional lighting. He only keeps one towel in the bathroom. He doesn't keep food in the apartment. My favorite part about his bachelor pad is the big screen television in his room. It is as big as the entire wall. Now let's look back at some classic Barney Stinson moments.

Barney bet his friends that he could run the New York marathon for Marshall with no training. Not only did he finish the marathon, he was the winner. But that is where the problems begin. Barney was stuck on the subway because he could not move his legs. He called Ted to come save him, but Ted jumped the subway gate and was tackled by security.

Barney and Ted go to the airport to pickup women at the luggage carousel. They end of meeting two girls who are going to meet their boyfriends in Philadelphia. It turns out the boyfriends are football players for the Eagles. Barney is caught on security camera putting luggage onto the carousel at JFK so he is apprehended by security.

In the Thanksgiving episode in the first season, Ted and Robin volunteer at a soup kitchen. When they arrive they find Barney is already there and he is the most popular guy among the regulars. Barney's picture is on the wall for being volunteer of the month. Later we find out that Barney was forced into community service because he was for public urination.

Barney's mother tells him that his real father is Bob Barker on the Price is Right. Barney's dream comes true as he is a contestant on the game show. He is able to show Barker pictures of his childhood and win prizes simultaneously. He wins both showcases and freezes when he is about to tell Barker that he is his son. He congratulates Barker for thirty years on the Price is Right. He gives all of his winnings as wedding presents to Marshall and Lilly.
