Leaves blow away
barren branches sway
the sky a dull gray
on this cold autumn day
A heart alone beats
another's eyes mine never meet
cold and grey as this bench seat
a soul burns from head to feet
Yearning to get out, be free
I feel the burning inside of me
heat yet to thaw my shaking knees
or my heart, in a deep freeze
