Brooklyn Academy of Science and the Environment (BASE) High School in Prospect Heights showed significant improvement on the NYC Department of Education's (DOE) annual Progress Report.

With an enrollment slightly under 450 students, this Classon Avenue school received an "A" for its overall score. The school received "A" ratings for the School Environment and Student Performance categories. BASE received a "C" for Student Progress last year and advanced to a "B" for this year's progress report.

Principal Veronica Peterson must be proud of her students, teachers and staff. BASE is known for its partnership with Brooklyn Botanic Garden and the Prospect Park Alliance. The partnership allows students to conduct research and field studies in the park and botanic garden. You can view the school's complete progress report here.
