Starting the Game
To put the ball into play it must be done one of two ways. With all team players of the kicking team behind the ball, the ball is then free kicked at the center of the field while the defensive plays remain ten yards away until the ball has been kicked. The other method is a jump ball between one member of each team. This is the same method used in basketball where the ball is thrown up into the air.
Ground Ball
When the ball is bouncing, rolling or sitting stationary on the ground. An air ball can still be considered a ground ball until it is played into the air by a kick-up or a direct kick.
Aerial Ball
When the ball is kicked directly into the air, this would a ball that was thrown but has not touched the ground, a punt, dropkick and a kick-up.
Air Dribble
When the ball is tossed into the air directly by a team player, a player is limited to one air dribble per possession.
Dribbling the Ball
Players are able to dribble the ball with the feet at anytime. The ball can be thrown in any direction and caught before it strikes the ground.
Scoring Indoor Rules
2 points kicked goals is when the ground ball is kicked in or against the goal, but outside the safety markers. 3 point shot is a ball that has been show from the designated three point line.
Scoring Outdoor Rules
Touchdown (1 point): When the ball is passed from the field to another teammate behind the goal line. Drop Kick (2 points): When the ball has been dropped from a players hands, kicked over the cross bar and between the uprights. This must take place outside the designated area. Field Goal (3 points): This is a ground ball that has been kicked over the cross bar and between the uprights. This must take place also from outside the designated area.
Fouls
In any games there are fouls this would include tripping, pushing or any unnecessary roughness, traveling (taking more than 3 steps), touching the ground ball with arms or hands, delaying the game, 2 or more players guarding the same opponent, throwing a touchdown from the penalty area, and preventing an opponent's progression of the game by personal contact.
Out of Bounds Play
When the opponent takes a throw in where the ball went out of play and a punt, place kick, drop kick or thrown ball is taken at the goal line or end line.
