Basic HTML Codes

Easy Code to Learn for MySpace, Yahoo! 360, and Other Blogs

Rian Wing

Basic HTML code is the easiest code to read. The code itself has simple rules that it must follow. These are the following rules.

  1. Tags: the attributes used to add affects to text. Tags use the less than and greater than brackets; i.e.

  2. Tags come in pairs, like an on and off switch; i.e.

  3. The second tag - the "off switch" - always starts with a forward slash (/).

  4. First tag on, last tag off.

  5. Many tags have optional attributes that use values to modify the tag's behavior. The

    (paragraph) tag's ALIGN attribute.

Confused yet? Don't be. Just like I mentioned above, HTML code is easy!

Let's get down to the nitty, gritty. To bold text you simple place this at the beginning of the text you wish to bold and then this bracket at the end of the text. Simple right? Right!

To make your text italic, add this bracket at the beginning of your text and this bracket at the end of the text.

To underline your text, add this bracket at the beginning of your text and this bracket at the end of your text.

Are you getting the hang of it yet?

If you're not, do not worry. It will make sense here in a minute. See how this text is bolded? I did just like I described above and it worked. Easy as pie I tell you.

Now, let's dig a little deeper and add some color.

How's this for some color? Pretty dang cool huh? Now how did I do this? Once again, it is easy!

To add color to your fonts, simply add the following bracket to the beginning of your text... and then this bracket at the end of your text . Got it? Try it out and see if it does what you want. And if you would like to change the color from red to blue or green, just change the word red to blue or green. Simple!

Ah, now you want bolded and colored text. Here is where it comes important to know how to turn off your tags. All you have to do is type Your Text here . Now do you see how the first tag to be turned on what the last tag to be turned off? Remember that and it will save you a lot of time.

Here is an example of the bolded red text.

Alright, there is how you apply simple HTML code to pages like MySpace, Yahoo! 360 Blogs, Xanga Blogs, and all of those other blog sites out there. Let's make your page pop and attract new people.
