Basic Hunting Guide for Tibia Begginers

A Guide to Start You on the Right Foot as You Start This Game

Robert Guinn
When you start the game Tibia you may find yourself a bit perplexed with the sheer size of the world. Once you advance further on into the game, you'll see it takes a lot of time traveling from place to place. A road trip from Thais to Carlin and back can easily take over an hour, and of course these paths are dangerous. If you play on a normal server then anyone at anytime has the ability to turn on the innocent and become a Pk'er. PK stands for person killer if you wondering, but aside from them there are a ton of powerful creatures in the world that can wipe out a low level character in a heartbeat.

You need to be prepared, and before venturing off alone and exploring the darkest regions of this land you need to make sure you can handle a dire situation in the event one arises. Once you leave Rookguard and enter the mainland you are faced with three options for residence. The best of your three choices would be to live in the city of Thais, the reason, because Thais is the largest city in Tibia, a trading hotspot, and has the best hunting grounds for low level characters in the game.

If you don't live in Thais then you need to move there fast! Gather as much stuff from your depot in Ab'dendel or Carlin and prepare for a long trek. Thais is located in the Southwestern portion of Tibia, on its own peninsula. From Carlin you will have to head West, following the road, then south around Tibia's large mountains, and finally West again over a few bridges. Now just follow the road, if you see a fork then just head south. You will end up at the North entrance of town, and need to get to the Thais depot, which is in the very center of the city.

If you travel from Ab'dendel just follow the road out of your city and head south. Go around the great mountains and finally to the fork in the road. Just head west from here crossing a couple of bridges and finally ending up at Thais. If you happen to get lost or need further assistance then check the library of Tibia's main website. There you can find detailed maps that will further guide you to Thais.

Once you're settled in, wither from Rookguard or otherwise you need to find some good places to hunt. Just east of the city there is an underground cave just past the huge bond fire. You will need to use a shovel to access this cave, this can be bought at Gorn's shop right across from Sam. After opening the entrance to the cave enter and go left. If you head right you may run into more powerful creatures that you can't handle yet. So take the left path and follow the ladders until you get to the main room of the cave.

This room will branch off frequently leading to many other rooms that have enemies; here are the places you want to go. The first room on your left will have up to 3 trolls waiting for you knock them out then head back to the main room. If you go south then you may encounter a few rouge trolls kill then and take the first room on your right. There should be two troll in here, kill then and exit the room the same way you came in. keep heading south until you have to turn east, there should be a room here with as many as 4 troll for you to kill.

Don't go any further into the cave at this point unless you have really good skills or are of a higher level. Trolls are good creatures for you to fight early on because there not all too powerful and give a nice chunk if experience to a beginning player. Further into the cave you will run into a combination of Orcs and Trolls, neither are tough alone, but they attack in very large groups of up to six which can deplete you life very quickly if your not able to defeat an Orc in3-4 hits or quicker.

The "Troll Caves" are a good place to train, but the problem is everyone and his brother knows where they are so they become over trained. Also many evil players that like to go on PK'ing sprees will frequent these places so just watch you back. Another good method of leveling up your character is just to fight creatures on the surface of Tibia by hunting around Thais.

From Thais south you will find an assortment of creatures that are very easy to kill and give halfway decent experience. Head south out of Thais and go as far south as the river, and as far east as you possibly can, without dipping below the river. In this area you will find spiders, poison spiders, wolves, and snakes. Each of these creatures are very weak and can easily be killed in a couple of blows. For this reason you can kill 15 wolves before you could kill 5 trolls overall giving you a lot more experience. The re-spawn of creatures on the surface is very quick and not many people train this way.

Also just outside the east gate of Thais you will find another good area to level up. Follow the contour of the cities walls north, here you will fight a large number of snakes, and wolves. Once you reach the intersection of the north and east walls of Thais head due east, you will encounter more wolves and a few rats as well as a couple poisonous spiders. Circle around and then repeat. This will nab you about 300 experience in just a few minuets time. Also to allow good re-spawn alternate this method with the two mentioned above, and in no time you will be leveling up quick!

Remember that your journey will be long and hard fought. You will inevitably be killed, and probably multiple times but never give up. We all have to start somewhere in this game and this guide will set you off on the right foot. Use it to level up to about level 15 or so this way you can get a good foothold in the world before taking on anything more difficult. By the time you reach level 15 no matter your vocation you will have a decent amount of spells to help guide you, and some good equipment to protect you. Making friends and hunting with them to take out larger monsters is also a good way from a group to earn a lot of experience so make sure you talk to people, and above all have fun, after all it is just a game. See you in Tibia!

In Tibia there is no limit to how stron your character can be. Check out the highscore boards and you'll see players with characters with levels over 200 in an overall view of all the game worlds.
