The basics of grooming consist of maintenance of coat, nails and ears. Maintenance of the coat deals with correctly bathing, combing, and drying of skin by dryers. The puppy needs to be clean but not everyday. Not bathing everyday helps to protect the insulation of the dog's skin.

It is very important to use products like shampoos and conditioners that are made for dogs. You can use a soft brush that's made for a dog to brush his fur. There are many options to choose from for dog brushes. There are brushes made for certain dog breeds. You will need to set a schedule for daily brushings of the dog coat. The shedding hair will need to be gathered and put in the garbage.

Proper grooming and disposing of the hair will be helpful for people with allergies. The air from the air condition or fan will cause any falling hairs to fly around the room and get in the nostrils of people in the home.

It's important to keep the puppy's nails clipped on a regular basis. You will need to use sharp clippers that are designed for dogs. Also, the dog should be position a certain way when clipping the dog's nails. You will need to firmly hold the dog's paw in your hand. This is to prevent the dog from taking an upper hand and causing an injury. It's very important to not cut the dog's nail too short because this will cause an injury.

As a dog owner, you should check the dog's ear canal on a regular basis. Also, you can use a cotton swab to keep the inside of the ear clean.

Also, it's important to take your dog to the Veterinary for yearly checkups. You will have your grooming routine down in no time with a little hard work. Having a dog or any pet is a big responsibility so make sure you have the time to invest into a new pet. It's very important to follow the proper grooming techniques so that your puppy will stay healthy.
