Warlords have some of the best strength attributes in the game. This power is what you will primarily use to overwhelm an opponent in battle and eventually destroy their faction. Cards like "The Scout" have great speed and strength as well as a decent amount of life. "The Scout" is a great card for a turn four character and what makes him even better is the fact that he has the soldier attribute. Many cards in the game like "Moral Officer" have the effect of adding life and strength to your soldier characters. This is great because about half of the characters in your deck, maybe more will be of this classification.
Other cards have effects that will allow for some awesome direct damaging power. "Elbow Dropper" will stop any of your characters from being blocked. This can mean massive damage brought down upon your opponent. Other cards, like "Deadly Striker" will deliver direct damage to an opponent's faction when he is defeated in battle. "Reckless Challenger" is the strongest turn four character in the game, with a massive seven attack on turn four.
The items and tactics that the Warlords use further push the boundaries of their strength. "Dragon Juice" adds +5 attack to any of your characters for only a cost of 2, this can knock out just about any character in the game in one fell strike. Other great tactics inflict damage directly to an opponent's character leaving their faction open for a direct assault. "Target Practice" will put two damage on any character you choose and "Shriever Attack" will inflict two damage on every character in play. "Shriever Attack" is great for knocking out your opponent's pesky token characters that always seem to flood the field with Gearsmith decks.
So overall the Warlords are very straight forward and easy to play. Their characters are extremely powerful and their tactics and items back this up in a big way. If played right, a Warlord deck can be one of the scariest decks to face because of their rushing abilities. Many of the characters are level four or lower so you can play a couple every turn. This allows you to keep a huge field presence and be productive while on offense or defense. For a beginner the Warlords are a perfect faction to start with and are even very fun and competitive for more advanced players as well.
