Basic Weapons of Tibia

A Guide to the Basic Weapons and Cost for Begginers in This Game

Robert Guinn
In the game of Tibia in order to survive you need the right equipment, and knowing what equipment to get depends on your level, skill, and what creatures you're attempting to hunt. Weapon choice depends on vocation, obviously a Paladin does not need an Axe to fight when you have a bow and arrow with 50+ distance fighting and the same goes for the druid and sorcerer classes. You have to know what weapons to buy from other players and how not to get ripped off, so here is a list of good weapons for those starting on you quest in this game, and how much they should cost you on average.

Sorcerers and Druids are easy when it comes to weapons, you can only use a wand or rod that equals your current level. As a Druid you begin with the Snake Bite rod at level 8 the cost is free, then move up to the Moonlight Rod at level 13 at a cost of 1000 gold, Volcanic rod at level 19 price tag 5000 gold, Quagmire rod at 24 for 10,000 gold and finally the most powerful rod at level 33 the Tempest Rod. The final rod is only available to buy as a premium account player, but you can usually trade for it by asking other players. The usual price of this rod is 15,000 from an Edron store, but if you purchase one from another player then your looking to spend about 10,000-12,000 gold

A Sorcerer is much the same as the Druid, as you level up new wands become available. Level 8 is the Wand of Vortex, Level 13 The Wand of Dragons Breath, Level 19 Wand of Plagues, and at level 24 the Wand of Cosmic Energy. For each wand or rod you use a certain element, for instance the Wand of Plagues is poisoned based, therefore you cannot hurt enemies like poison spiders, so make sure you get familiar with your weapon, and don't be ashamed to use a lower level wand or rod. Many Druids opt to use the Volcanic rod over the Quagmire because of the Volcanic rods range and ability to damage almost every creature in the game. Jut use what suites your needs. Also the Wands cost is the same as the cost of rods.

Paladins have an easy time with weapon selection, it's the ammo they need to choose, but there again it's very easy. Bow and arrow, simple as that, although you can choose to use a crossbow, long bow, short bow and a variety of ammunition, you just have to find what you like and stick with it. For a beginner a regular bow and arrow combination is best, and as you progress through the levels you can obtain spells that will allow you to make other kinds of arrows like poison arrows and burst arrows.

Knight's have the most difficult weapon choice of all the vocations. A sword is always a good pick, there are normally one handed weapons, with decent attack and average defense. You can also go for the axe fighting skill, using a knight axe, but a sword is your best bet. Right off of Rookguard you should be using a sword, kitana, or Carlin sword, either way you need a weapons upgrade. Do your best to get 2000 gold, or 2K as you will often hear and try to buy either the Serpent Sword or Spike Sword from another player, and remember to always use the secure trading method to trade items and gold. Many times you can buy the Serpent Sword cheaper, at around 800-1500 gold while the Spike Sword will cost you around 1500-2000 gold. The difference is the Serpent Sword is lighter with more attack with very weak defense. The Spike Sword has good defense and high attack, although not as high as the Serpent Sword, but is a little bit heavier. If you have the extra gold and capacity then go with the Spike Sword because its just more well rounded, but a Serpent Sword is also a good choice as a backup or if you tight on money or capacity.

These weapons will become outdated after you reach level 17 or 18, possibly before then. If you want to take on larger enemies like Cyclops and Minotaur guards, then you need to get a better sword. By now you should have a decent amount of money in stock, so for around 4500-5000 gold you can get a Fire sword. This is a great intermediate weapon and will serve you well, its attack and defense is far superior to the Serpent or Spike Swords and the weight is manageable, especially if you're a higher level knight. Then once you reach level 25 or higher you need to trade in your sword for one of the best a knight can get, a Bright Sword. Its light, has more defense and attack, and will allow you to wipe out enemies very quickly.

The prices listed are about the average price you can expect to pay on normal servers in Tibia. The Rods and Wands are priced as new as if you were to buy them from a shop, while the swords are priced as compared to what other players will want you to pay for them. The swords are unavailable at shops so your only option is to buy them from other players. And always remember that you can negotiate the price. If you think someone wants too much for an item try and talk them down, it works in a lot of situations. For more information about Tibia's weapons check out the main website and its affiliates, you can find detailed information on each weapon on Tibia's fan sites as well and their explanations are very helpful too.
