Basics for a Hawaiian Winter Wedding

Susan Brown
Of course, the colors in winter when it comes to Hawaii really don't include anything white... except, perhaps, white flowers that may be growing... but if you want to invoke a winter wonderland type of feeling into your wedding, even if in a tropical place like Hawaii, then please believe you can do so successfully! Here are some great tips.

Use lots of white, for everything! Nothing is more sensual than whites on a lush backdrop of green tropical vegetation or even blue bubbly ocean waves! If you want to incorporate a color into your wedding, a good way to do so is by incorporating natural Hawaiian hues - like those taken from a winter sunset. You know the ones - the light pastel pinks. Use these same light pinks as your colors for your wedding, if you need any.

There is something called pa'akai - it's basically a white Hawaiian sea salt, and it's great for decoration. Try filling clear glass squares or even vases or small jars with this and use them as placecards that also double as favors - each with each guest's name on it. Very cute! And it incorporates white beautifully into the theme.

And, of course, there's also the cake to think about... a big white cake has a winter theme already written all over it, and you can add even more special touches to it like a cake stand that looks like ice! It turns out absolutely gorgeous.

Other touches like white pearl strands, sugar crystal-coated food items like cookies, and pretty white and baby pink chiffon fabrics make this a very memorable "winter wedding" located in Hawaii!

Flowers for a winter wedding in Hawaii should most definitely be white - there are some gorgeous white roses that complete your day perfectly, or even some local fauna that is a little bit more tropical (like orchids or even calla lilies) and still adds that crisp white touch.

Indeed, a winter wedding can be successfully achieved in the beautiful landscape of Hawaii - and it can even be rather memorable for everyone! Check out the wonderful worldwide web for picture ideas, including various Hawaiian resorts that actually post galleries of pictures from past weddings that have been held at their location.
