Basketball Conditioning Tips: Four Gym Etiquette Guidelines You Should Remember

John Smith
Basketball conditioning is an essential part of gaining an advantage in the game of basketball. Players need to train and work out both on and off the court to improve their game. A lot of players enjoy going to the gym to condition and train, but there are a number of people that do not know proper gym etiquette. There are a number of guidelines that you should remember, including, sharing the exercise equipment with others, putting weights back in their designated areas, takings weights off of weight bars when you are finished, and cleaning up machines after you are done exercising.

One of the most important gym etiquette guidelines when you are doing your basketball conditioning is to always share the equipment with other people in the gym. Remember that the gym does not belong to you, and everyone is entitled to use all of the equipment there. If you see somebody that looks like they are waiting on you to finish, tell them how much longer you'll expect to be, or asked them if they would like to working with you while you are resting.

Another important gym etiquette guideline when you are doing your basketball conditioning in a gym is to always put back weights in their proper places. For example, when you're done using a set of dumbbells, return them to the rack. By simply leaving them scattered on the floor, you are being inconsiderate of other gym users, and if someone trips over them it can cause very serious injury.

Yet another guideline of proper gym etiquette when doing basketball conditioning is to always take off the weight from the weight bar when you're finished. For example, if you just got done doing a bench press exercise, take the weight back off of the bar so that it is ready for the next person.

Finally, one of the most important guidelines for proper gym etiquette when doing basketball conditioning is to always clean up the exercise machines when you're finished. You wouldn't want to work out on a sweaty machine, so take the time to do cleanup after yourself and others will appreciate it.
