Basketball Wives Premiered on VH1 Sunday April 11, 2010
Find Out What it is like to Be Married to a Professional Basketball Star
Premiere Episode: Basketball Wives
The premiere of Basketball Wives features Shaunie O'Neal, who recently filed for divorce from husband Shaquille O'Neil enjoying a night on the town in Miami with several other "basketball wives". In this first episode the women partook in a dance competition and enjoyed cocktails at a Miami hot spot while dishing about their famous husbands.
Basketball Wives Show Details?
VH1 will air the new series, Basketball Wives on Sunday nights at 10:00. Expect to see more stories of the lives of the different women who are either married to popular professional basketball players or are current or former girlfriends of professional basketball players.
Who Will Watch Basketball Wives?
I would not expect many men to be caught up in this new reality television show. The main audience for Basketball Wives will be women and most especially those women who are currently involved with athletes (professional or otherwise) or who have dated athletes in the past. There is a special bond between women who share similar experiences. There are many women out there who know the joys and who can share in the pain that sometimes goes along with dating or being married to an athlete. Athletes are often devoted to their sport above all other things, which can make it difficult for the wives and girlfriends of these athletes. A reality show about the lives of the women behind the athlete is long overdue and the series, Basketball Wives may prove a successful show for VH1.
