Bath & Body Works Anti-Bacterial Hand Soap

The Bottle
I've been staring at the bottle trying to remember my geometry classes to describe the strange shape of it... Parallelogram? maybe? It tapers smaller as it goes towards the top. The top is a twist on with a pump to release the soap - which comes out very easy and liquidy enough for quick use. I do like the shape because it allows the bottle to be stable, even when knocked around a bit. Your regular soap bottles will just fall over if you tap them too hard!

The Bath & Body Works labels are very subtle, but I wish they were removable. I think the clear bottle would look nice without any labels - especially if you don't plan to buy a separate fancy soap dispenser. The label at least stays on strong for the life of the product - unlike those regular soap bottles where paper peels off all the time.

The Stuff
This hand soap is made with these "special ingredients":
-Green tea extract - to sooth
-Shea butter - to moisturize
-Vitamin E - to nourish.

These are just added benefits but the real purpose is the soap! It's anti-bacterial so it's meant to kill germs. Warning: When you use anti-bacterial products it will also kill GOOD bacteria that your body needs. Make sure not to over use! Because of this, I only use this soap for out of the ordinary germy situations, and not for everyday use.

The Use
So does it sooth, moisturize and nourish? Well... not really. During use ,my hands do feel really good as if I am washing them with soft, silky moisturizer. However, when I dry my hands, they feel weird... and really dry! Yes they feel clean, but dry at the same time. My hands are naturally moist so I can feel the difference right away. For this reason, I keep this by our kitchen sink and stick to using it after cooking - the only time I really need the anti-bacterial strength.

The Smell
I have cucumber melon and though it smells good as I use it, I can barely smell it afterwards. I would prefer to smell it long after use - or at least a half hour! Instead within a few minutes after washing I smell my hands and don't notice any scent. Bath & Body Works makes this in many scents, but it doesn't really matter since the smell wears off!

The End!
Although I will continue to use this by my kitchen sink (to clean all the food germs off my hands) I will not be putting it in my bathroom. My hands are too dry afterwards so I think that can't possibly be doing any good in the long run. However, I believe this anti-bacterial soap is good to kill germs as long as it is used in moderation. Pick up one bottle for the cook in your family and that is all you need!
