Tiny Bubbles? or Too Easily Blown Away?

Bath and Body works Aromatherapy Stress Relief Eucalyptus Spearamint Shower Gel and Foam Bath

I bought this product along with another scent for $13.00 for 10 fl. Ounces

. I used it as a "foam bath" as it says on its label. I was looking for a bubble bath that would not irritate my eczema and was told by my fellow eczema sufferers that Bath and Body Works Bath Soaks were mild on the skin.

I picked out this scent because it was refreshing but not overpowering. Unlike many of the very perfume laden scents in the Bath and Body works family this was nice. I added a full ounce under running water to my bath and the bath seemed to only fill at on end of the tub with bubbles. So I swirled the water around and then was rewarded with a decent layer of bubbles.

Fifteen minutes into my soak I opened my eyes and noticed that almost all of the bubbles had evaporated. Now, the idea behind bubble baths is that the bubbles form a sort of layer that traps some of the heat in the water allowing one to soak in the tub a little longer.

While I am unsure if science has proven this fact or not, I did notice that the water turned tepid quite a bit faster after the dissapearance of the bubbles.

So twenty minutes after beginning my bath I shaved my legs, finding that it was easy and I required no shave gel. I drained the tub and noticed the tub was extremely slippery. I had to use my detatchable shower head to spray myself off and the tub down. I did notice after exiting the tub that while my arms and torso were not itchy my legs did require extra lotion despite the slip agent in the tub.

In conclusion ,while this bath soak combination shower gel is pleasant if one is looking for a bubble bath it misses the boat. I am sure it would be a perfectly adequate shower gel, but spending $13.00 for a shower gel with such a mild scent and mild sudsing action seems wasteful to this reviewer even if the product claims a dual nature.

Perhaps there is wisdom in the saying sometimes you have to choose one or the other, you can't always have it both ways.
