Bath & Body Works Pleasures Body Cream Smells Great and Offers Long Relief, but Not Instant Relief

Suzanne Rose
I don't like peas at all, so when I heard of a "sweet pea" scent, it never appealed to me. Then my sister got me a Sweet Pea body lotion from Bath and Body and it actually is pretty nice! However it isn't perfect and I've had a few issues with it as explained below.

The Container
This container is stands upside-down meaning that the lotion is always collected at the bottom and ready for use! It also means that when you are down to the last few drops you can still get it all out without a lot of trouble. There's nothing worse then having a ton of lotion left that you can't seem to get out of the bottle.

The top flips open and closed making it really easy to open. I hate times when I have an itch on my leg and yet I'm not able to open the lotion! It is really easy and has a snap closure so you don't have to worry about it opening on accident. The actual container itself is a heavy plastic that retains its shape even after many squeezes. It travels well also as even with pressure it won't pop open.

Finally, it's shape is closely related to a toothpaste tube shape which makes it a lot easier to squeeze the lotion out. However, unlike toothpaste, the shape always bounces back after you squeeze, so you don't have trouble getting any of the lotion out in the future.

The Feel
The lotion comes out very thick, but once you start rubbing it on it does apply very smoothly and nicely. It feels okay but my problem is that it can be sticky when applying so you feel as if you haven't completely rubbed it in, even though there is no more to rub in. Once it does dry, I don't noticeably feel like my skin is softer after using this. I've heard that alcohol based lotions can dry out your skin and that is probable the case with the Pleasures Body Cream. I tend to use lotion when I have an itch on my arm or back, and I found this lotion did not instantly make my itch go away like other lotions I have used. I want relief fast!

The Smell
The smell is nice. Although Sweet Pea is not my favorite Bath and Body smell, it is definitely a nice smell. I've sniffed out other varieties of the Pleasures Body Cream and feel they all smell pleasant. The more you put on the more you will smell and the longer the smell will last. I will notice the smell on my skin even hours after applying. It's nice if you put it on before bed because you will have the smell surrounding you as you sleep - like sleeping in a field of flowers! I know some people don't like smells that linger, however I most enjoy smelling the lotion and Pleasures does give me this satisfaction.

The Results
Although I did not instantly have itch relief, I did have a lack of itches the day after using this. I think that it did not solve my immediate problem, but long term I feel less dry or itchy since I started using this. The Pleasures Body Cream did soften and moisten my dry skin eventually, it just wasn't an instant change.

The End!
The bottle says it's only 8oz even though it seems like there is a lot in there. I wonder how much air is thrown in the container! For me with daily used, one bottle will last a few months. If you are looking for a long lasting dry skin relief, this may be a good choice.. but if you want some instant results you will have to try a more powerful lotion. I will continue using Bath and Body lotions in all their various scents, but I will also have a regular non-scented lotion on hand for those really itchy times. Grab a bottle of this and bring the smell of flowers with you everywhere!
