Bathroom Feng Shui and Your Health

Feng shui taught us that much of our health, overall well-being and different events in our lives has got to do with how our personal environment is arranged. Although it is a misconception that good Feng shui can heal you of your ailments, Feng shui can help promote better health and quality of life by creating balance and harmony of energy that flows from your environment and you. Bad Feng shui causes the contrary and makes you vulnerable to all kinds of negative chi such as stress and illness.

In any property, such as your home or office, you should be aware of how the energy or chi flows around and through it, especially because this chi is the same energy that will flow through you and affect your health and well-being.

Feng shui bagua (map of a space) has a great influence on how many of today's homes are arranged, including where the living and bedrooms are positioned to attract good health, prosperity and love in the house and into you.

Another area of the house that has a great influence over your health and well being is the bathroom. The bathroom is predominantly driven by water, which in Feng shui is associated with wealth and money. However, as this room is also associated with elimination and waste, you need to make sure this dead chi cannot influence you and your family's health.

One way to make sure positive energy dominates your bathroom is to place living plants, decors or accessories with vibrant colors or crystals.

If your bathroom door is aligned or directly across your bedroom room door bad energy from the bathroom can easily flows to your bedroom. This arrangement can cause risks to your health and even your wealth. The bathroom's bad energy affects you mostly during your sleep. Hence, Feng shui recommends that you should position your headboard in such a way that it is not in line with the bathroom, especially if your bathroom is alongside or inside your bedroom. You can also place a crystal on your headboard or hanging on your ceiling to counter the dead chi.

Every time you flush the toilet, the good energy, especially those associated with health and prosperity also goes down the drain. To prevent the negative chi from affecting your health, always close the bathroom door and keep the toilet seat cover down when not used. Install a curtain or screen on the bathroom entrance if in case your bathroom does not have any doors.

Hang up a crystal in the toilet tank so that the chi in your toilet is balanced. Crystals can also be hung in the ceiling between your bed and bath.

To shield yourself from the unhealthy chi of your bathroom, lay a red ribbon or string in the entrance that separates the bed and bath. Make sure that the lace or string is glued or nailed to the floor properly to prevent people tripping on it.

In Feng shui, bathrooms placed near the kitchen can also pose problems on your health. The negative or dead chi might flow in the kitchen and affect the food you eat. If your bathroom is located in this problem area, make sure to close the doors, hang crystals and place the red ribbons as well.

Plumbing fixtures should be spotlessly clean and functional. Filth and leaky pipes and faucets accentuates waste and negative energy. The noise coming from the drops and leaks can also disturb the subconscious and muddle your frame of thought. Fixing the leaks will not only save water, it can also prevent wealth from being washed away and also clear your mind.

Feng shui recognizes the fact that everything in the universe is interlinked. All the objects in the universe posses energy that can influence other things in this world, including humans. So as you arrange your home, keep in mind good health and well being. Your positive attitude can also rub on to your environment and help bring your aspiration into actuality.
