Bathroom Lighting Fixtures - Where More Can Be Better

One area that is often overlooked in any home is the bathroom lighting fixtures. It is one of those things you really never think about until you are putting on makeup or doing your hair, etc. You need good lighting that is not only easy on your eyes, but is fully functional as well. Here are some tips to help you in finding the fixtures that best suites your needs.

When it comes to lighting fixtures in the bathroom you have a virtually endless choice of options to choose from. But, not all light fixtures are functional in providing good light for your needs. Many are simply better suited as being more decorative in nature.

I'm not a woman, but I know from my wife that putting on makeup requires good lighting in order to get it right. It never seems like you can have too much light when it comes to this. Now, for some homeowners, you have your bathroom set up to where you get plentiful sunlight. You have windows and skylights that give you enough sunlight to do the job (without giving your neighbors a show). That's great, because sunlight is the best kind of light you can get.

For those who do not get this type of natural lighting you need a good fixture to do the job. The key is to find a lighting fixture that has a lot of bulbs in it. I'll explain why in a moment. One important tip that you want to avoid is using any kind of fluorescent lighting in the bathroom. The glare makes putting on makeup an almost impossible ordeal.

Having a bathroom light that includes a row of bulbs is your best bet. One that also includes bulbs down the side is even better. Have you ever seen what the dressing rooms look like that they use on TV? You see rows of bulb up and down and along the top. It is due to the fact that this type of setup provides the best kind of light possible. There is no shadowing or areas that can not be seen well. Light is available in all directions instead of just over the top so to speak.

You can find bathroom lights at any lighting store or at your larger home improvement stores such as Lowes or Home Depot. They have hundreds of different types of light fixtures to choose from. Spend some time looking for the light fixtures that have places for many bulbs. You may find some that you had never even thought about before that are just right for your particular need.
