Batman: Arkham Asylum Video Game Review for PS3, PC, and Xbox 360

A lot of buzz has surrounded the recent release of Batman: Arkham Asylum, and for good reason. This is one of the best comic book type games ever made. It combines great action with a strong story, and there is so much for you to do that it never gets boring. I highly recommend this game. It is available for the PS3, Xbox 360, and Windows PC.

I really liked the story in this game, because it sets up the perfect opportunity for an endless number of opponents for Batman. The game begins with you capturing the Joker and taking him to Arkham Asylum to be detained. Once inside, the Joker orchestrates a prison riot and he, along with the other prisoners, take over the Asylum. Batman is stuck inside with every villain he's ever faced, and he must fight his way out, save the guards, and stop the Joker.

There is a lot for you to do in Batman: Arkham Asylum, and that's what makes it so much fun to play. It has a lot of fighting parts where you punch and kick a variety of opponents. The fighting part is like a whole other game in itself, and there's even a separate section of the game just for mastering it. You also will have to employ a variety of covert ways to take out bad guys since many of them have guns and you don't. You'll have Batman swinging from the rafters and dropping down on top of people, throwing his Batarang to knock down bad guys, and much more. The diversity of the gameplay coupled with a lot of exploration helps to make sure this game never gets boring or repetitive.

The graphics and sound in this game are excellent. I played the PS3 version of the game, but I understand there is very little difference between it and the Xbox 360. Batman is muscular and hulking, and all the familiar villains look like their comic book counterparts. Thankfully, the Joker in this game is nothing like Heath Ledger's excellent portrayed in the last Batman movie, so there are no comparisons. I thought the layout of all the levels were very well designed so that you had plenty of room to explore, because there's a lot of hidden bonus stuff to find along the way.

Batman: Arkham Asylum is the game to be playing right now. It's getting the highest ratings from all the major gaming sites, and copies of the game have been flying off the shelves. Get it now and be ready for hours upon hours of villain-crushing fun.
