Batman Begins - Movie Review

Walter Kovacs
Batman Begins is a great movie. It is the story of how Batman, well, begins. It starts with Bruce Wayne as-a kid. Him and his best friend Rachel are playing hide and seek around Wayne Manor when Bruce falls in to a deep cavern. There are bats inside, and when they swarm around him, he discovers that he is afraid of them. Only a few minutes later, his father, Thomas Wayne, rappels down into the Cavern and picks up his son. The movie then cuts to Bruce Wayne in jail (we don't know why, and we don't find out ever in the duration of the movie). He instills anger in one of his fellow inmates who fights him. When Bruce takes down this man, many others rush in. Wayne takes them all down. He is evacuated to solitary confinement. he's visited by Liam Neeson (Ducard) walks in. He knows about Bruce, and he allows him to leave the prison. He is told that if he walks up the mountain, carrying a rare blue flower from the mountain's base, he will be taught a lesson. When he arrives at the top of the mountain, he is welcomed by Ra's Al Ghul, who is the leader of the League of Shadows. The League of Shadows is a group that builds vigilantes and heroes. Wayne is brought in, and for the next years of his life, he is taught martial arts and how to conquer his fear (bats).

When he returns home, he receives word that he must kill every one of the political figures of Gotham and that he must destroy the economy by killing rich people. Wayne would not do it, and he knew that to save Gotham, he wouldn't have to destroy it. He could just take down all the villains. This is when he becomes the Batman.

This is a really good movie, and the plot, acting and special effects are great. When the characters act, it seems like that is what they would rail say in that situation. It seems very.. .unscripted. If you plopped the actors into those situations, the things they said in the movie are the things the would have said in real life.

This is a really good movie, and I would give it an A. I really liked the plot both before and after Bruce's training (there is more. Don't worry). I encourage you to at least rent this movie. If you are planning to purchase it, though, you can get it with the menu and special features for only $9.99 through iTunes. This is a great movie. Make sure to check it out.
