Yeah um, so last week if you lived in Brooklyn you were subjected to one of the most random and severe acts of weather any New Yorker has ever seen.

It was a nice day, not too warm, and I can assure you that thunderstorms were not on anyone's mind.

Then came the afternoon and the humidity spiked, the barometer dropped and the skies started to darken.

Ok, I said to myself, we might get some rain. So I'm just minding my own business when all of a sudden I thought that a bomb went off. Another terrorist attack? Nope, thunder. And along with the thunder came hundreds of lightning strikes, winds that ripped up enormous trees and destroyed the foliage in entire neighborhoods.

It was legitimately a natural disaster. FEMA has been called in to assess the damage which includes downed trees, smashed cars and razed buildings. The storm and rumored tornado struck at 5:40 and was gone in the matter of minutes but not before leaving millions of dollars in damage.

Most people escaped serious damage although there was one fatality and some other injuries. I was fortunate to ride the storm out from the safety of my apartment while trying to remain calm. I can't say the same for these guys.
