Battle Field Bad Company 2: Vietnam - Better Than Black Ops and Reach?

Or is it Simply Just Preference?

In the past, there has always been quite a competition in the gaming market to create the most popular first person shooter. Of course, there are always many games that are amongst the most popular, but especially in recent times, many companies are trying to get the most traffic.

Call of Duty: Black Ops, Halo: Reach, and Battle Field Bad Company 2: Vietnam are all classic examples of this. You will see many hardcore gamers interested in only one of the three above games typically, and they will often discredit the others from existence. I personally have played and enjoyed all three games, but I do believe that one of them has great superiority to the others.

Call of Duty is great, however, it's typically played on Xbox live, since most Call of Duty games aren't far from terrible for the PC. Most of the players on Xbox live are 12 year olds who swear at you and call you a hacker every time you kill them. They also will often sing terrible songs. It's just annoying, and the social aspect of this game and most Xbox 360 Live games is destroyed because of it. Aside from extra features, CoD:BO is a pretty decent game, when people don't camp. There is very little to no anti-camp integration, and players don't even benefit often from being mobile and not standing in corners, waiting for people to spawn. This is why the game has received the title from many players of other games, "Camp of Duty", and I cannot disagree.

Halo Reach has never really appealed to me, as none of the other Halo games have ever been that great of a creation in my opinion. I know there are hardcore Halo fans out there, and while they may enjoy a poorly designed game with little to no height on the skill ceiling, they can keep humvee camping people with their sticky grenades and what not - I'll play a game that requires some skill.

And on to the best. Battlefield Bad Company 2/Vietnam is a very good game, and with the latest expansion, got even better. For those of you that were already familiar with BC2 prior to the expansion, you will greatly appreciate the new maps, guns, and vehicles. The new maps tend to lean towards being more of a bottle-neck style rather than open and hard to travel across. People also seem to die much easier, whether you are on hardcore mode or not. This is great because I like a first person shooter with at least some realism. All of the guns are from the Vietnam era, and are designed pretty well; From sounds and animations to actual output.

Vehicle combat is quite great in the new expansion as well. The new vehicles actually go down quite easy and are not large killing machines used for camping a capture point or other objective. Similarly, the damage that the engineers can do to both vehicles and players has been greatly increased. It's nice to see that it doesn't take 8 shots from an anti-tank weapon to take it down. Also, take note that like in the first version of the game, tanks and other vehicles still take greatly increased damage from the side - where they lack in armor.

The only thing I preferred about the other games in comparison was that Black Ops is a much lighter game and it is easier to move, shoot, etc. BC2:Vietnam is a little heavier, and the movement has a bulkier feel to it. Once used to it, is nothing, but after having gotten used to CoD:BO, it was a little difficult and annoying.
