The blood of angels falling like rain
Covering all the land below
In an endless blood stain
For the gods above are waging war
A bloody challenge over who is best
A battle like none ever before
And only one will pass the test
Oh, can you imagine if the deities fought!
Over which one of them was best
All the destruction that'd be brought
I think us down here would protest!
Can you see Jesus stabbing Buddha in the back,
Because he taught love in a little different way?
Because if I saw such an attack
I'll tell you I wouldn't know what to say
Or God, Allah, and Yahweh
Battling it out in the sky
Be hard for one to win the day
Since they're each the same guy!
Oh, can you imagine if the deities fought!
Over which one of them was best
All the destruction that'd be brought
I think us down here would protest!
They'd battle over which one was most real
Or whose teachings were most true
How in the world would you feel?
What in heaven would you do?
'Cause since most of them can't die
And they all have godly might
I think you can kiss the earth goodbye
'Cause this war has no end in sight
Oh, can you imagine if the deities fought!
Over which one of them was best
All the destruction that'd be brought
I think us down here would protest!
Yeah, you thought God's flood was severe?
Or fear Shiva's dance of destruction?
This war will destroy all far and near
They'll be nothing left for reconstruction
Yes, everything will be destroyed
And every last one of us will die
Nothing left, just empty void
Not even a man left to ask why
Oh, can you imagine if the deities fought!
Over which one of them was best
All the destruction that'd be brought
I think us down here would protest!
So let us hope the gods never fight
That their shadows don't shroud the day
That their cries don't echo through the night
That they stay a prayer's distance at bay
