Battle: Los Angeles Filming in Baton Rouge, LA on Friday, October 23, 2009
Aaron Eckhart and Michelle Rodriguez to Star
"Battle: Los Angeles" is an Action/Sci Fi movie about the invasion of Los Angeles by aliens. A Marine platoon steps up to the plate to battle the aliens to avoid a take over. It is scheduled to be released in February of 2011.
This week and the coming week various roads in the Baton Rouge area will be closed due to the filming of "Battle: Los Angeles." Friday, October 23, 2009 will be a critical day for filming. Filming will occur on multiple locations throughout the city. If you happen to run into a traffic jam, it could be because the streets are closed for the filming of "Battle: Los Angeles." Keep your eyes open for a glimpse of the stars.
Here is a list provided by the East Baton Rouge Parish Mayor's Office of expected and known road closures:
Beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 23, the production will be shooting scenes beneath I-110 between Laurel and North streets for 12 hours, which will necessitate the closing of two I-110 ramps in that area. A third ramp will be subject to intermittent closures by police during that period.
The Main Street entrance ramp onto northbound I-110 will be closed from 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23 until 6 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, as will the portion of Main Street between 9th and 10th streets.
The I-110 northbound exit ramp onto North Street will be closed from 8 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Saturday, and the southbound I-110 exit ramp onto Laurel Street will be subject to intermittent closures by police during those same hours.
In addition, North Street between 9th and 10th streets will be closed from 6 p.m. Friday until 6 p.m. Saturday, as will 10th Street between Florida Boulevard and North Street. Adjacent streets may be subject to police-controlled, short-term intermittent closures.
Many of these street closures will affect afternoon drive traffic. Be sure to have an alternate plan in place before you head home Friday evening. After wrapping up filming in Baton Rouge, LA sometime in December, the crew will be moving to Bay St. Louis, MS to complete the filming of "Battle: Los Angeles".

Oh, I can't wait to see it.... :o)
It sounds like an intriguing film. Curious that it is being filmed down south though :)
This sounds like something our family (mostly guys) would like. Thanks for the heads up and interesting info!
Oooo - I really like Aaron Ekhart. We were in Boston recently, and Ben Affleck, Adam Sandler and Kevin James were all there filming, but Boston Commons was closed to tourists because of it...so we didn't get to see them OR the historic Commons. Phooey.
Wow..great heads up!
Good Info!
Good information for anyone in that area to try and see some famous faces.
Good fun if you are on foot. Always an uptick for the local economy.
Interesting news. :-)
