So let us start with the plot. You are a killer, but not just a military killer. You killed a man, and were put in jail. The United States Government set up a program called B Company, which is an army unit for convicts. If you survive a year, you are set free. The only thing is, B Company, nicknamed Bad Company, has the highest mortality rate in the entire United States Army. You are expected to die on your first mission.
Next, let's move on to the controls. They are definitely odd. To shoot is regular, aim down your sights with the LT button, and shoot with the RT button, but after that, all similarities to other games end. To regain health, you have to press the LB button, select the syringe, and inject yourself. This takes much longer and is much more complicated than hiding behind cover and waiting to regain health like you do in Call of Duty. Next, there is the melee button. It is not the regular way, where you press in the right stick. You press the Y button, and this keeps your knife out. You have to press RB (no, not the grenade button) to switch back to your weapon. Crouch isn't B, its the Right Stick, and you can't go prone (lie down).
This game is fun, but there are some major problems with it. The easiest difficulty is much too easy. If you just hide in cover for a while, your team will kill all the other people. The next problem, the medium difficulty is too hard. Your team will only kill 1 or 2 men out of 20. You will have to take out the other 18 or 19. I spent about 2 weeks beating the campaign on medium, and am not yet ready to try the hardest difficulty.
So that's pretty much it for Battlefield Bad Company. I would give this game an 8 out of 10, because it is amazing, except for the difficulties, which don't really affect me because I mostly just play on Xbox LIVE. Make sure to rent this game before you buy it. You are going to be bad at it at first, but you will get better.
