Battleship Command, Featuring the Cast from Pirates of the Caribbean

Chris Tidwell
Everyone knows and loves the age old classic game of battleship; however Milton Bradley have put a new spin on this classic standard. Battleship Command based on the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise is a great game for anyone who's a fan of the movies and loves the game of Battleship. Battleship Command does not employ your usual plastic ships but rather uses an innovative system that allows you to be a number of interesting ships and creatures worth points in order to win the game. Everything form the board design to the playing style is classic, and yet innovative to fit the theme of the movies.

During game play you take turns selecting targets and firing, using the same hit and miss method Battleship is famous for, but there is a new way of scoring a victory. You can sink an opponents ship with just one blow directing in the ships "weak point" this will send an opposing players vessel to Davy Jones Locker with just one blow. For each ship you sink you earn points until one player loses all their ships. The player with the most points wins.

The most fun thing about this new Battleship is the fact that you can command all your favorite ships from the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. Take control of the Flying Dutchmen, or the Black Peril, a Spanish Interceptor or a British Mon-O-War, the choices are vast, and you can even take control of Davy Jones's personal pet, the all mighty Kraken. Also check each ships special power to help you win a decisive navel victory in Battleship Command.

The art and design of the game is quite wonderful as well. The box features the famous Pirates of the Caribbean logo and is decorated with maps and so on. The cards that picture the ships are just vivid sketches but give the game an old feel, as though you really are captain of a mighty sea vessel and are commanding a fleet into battle on the high seas during the times of Pirates.

Battleship Command is sure to become a classic board game, with at least a few spin off versions in the future and since it features the Disney logo and deals with the Pirates of the Caribbean movie franchise it's sure to become a collector's item. Battleship command is a fun game that doesn't take a long time to play, so if you're a fan of the movies and want to try something different, then I would recommend Battleship Command featuring the cast from Pirates of the Caribbean.
