Bay Bayou RV Resort in Tampa, Florida is a 5 Star Campground
According to Woodall's - I'd Give it 4 Stars.
Tampa, FL 33635
United States of America
One unusual aspect about Bay Bayou is their hours. The office is not open on Sundays and they close every day at 5:00p.m. so you want to get there early.
They have a lot of rules - none of which is unreasonable. One is their children policy. Children cannot stay at Bay Bayou for more than two weeks.
Another unusual and unpleasant aspect is the spraying for no-see- ums and mosquitoes. The smell is awful and I'm sure toxic. At one point while we were walking around we saw the spraying and it just looked awful. It doesn't work since we got bitten up there.
The people in check in were very nice. They will ask you about the kind and age of your unit and if you have a 20 year old mess of a trailer you may want to stay away. Most of the units were large Class As. We have a small travel trailer so we stood out!
The pool area was beautiful. The pool is beautifully shaped and the tables and chairs were immaculate. The campground is on a second phase where they plan on a second spa and adding a second floor to the clubhouse. The clubhouse is where we checked in. If you look at the pictures you will see a room that looks much nicer than what I saw though the room is nice. There is a small area where you can take out books and videos, a pool table, tables that had been set up for Christmas, and a very, very small area with just a few cardio machines and a stability ball.
The Park was immaculate and pretty with ponds and streams that we were clearly warned not to go into.
It is only one of 40 RV parks in Florida with a Woodall rating of 5 and 5. This is very impressive.
Trailer Life rated it one of the top 100 campgrounds in the United States.
There are 272 sites each of which have a patio and picnic table. All have full hookups.
We had stayed at a campground another year that had a small dog area but the dog area at Bay Bayou was large, fenced in and had a hot water bath!
They offer activities which we passed on including Bingo and Poker.
We stayed a week so we payed a bit less than the daily rate. The weekly rate was $275.00.

I don't own an RV so this doesn't apply. Ever stayed in any near Ocala?

Thanks for reading!
It sounds nice the pool is really pretty, the only camp ground I have ever stayed it is one that my mother in law had a permanent spot in. We all inherited it equally when she passed away, but it was a special place for her and her fiancee so my husband and his siblings let him have it. But we can go there and use it anytime we like as long as we ask at least a couple of weeks in advance.
Thanks for the review!
