BCS Championship Game Predictions: LSU and Ohio State

Zig
Ohio State is at the top of a very weak conference. Going undefeated in a conference like this would be quite accomplishable for a BCS championship game team; however Ohio State did not even accomplish this goal. They lost to a very mediocre (good team for the Big Ten) Illinois.

LSU has two losses to two very tough SEC teams. The SEC, unlike the Big Ten, was a much tougher conference. Most would say that the SEC is the toughest conference this year.

LSU is a very powerful team that is well rounded and can be super explosive on offense. They will spread you out and score fast and hard. While the Ohio State fans may say "not so fast.... What about OSU having the number one defense in the land?", looking at the past Ohio State schedule would reveal them not having played many tough teams.

Look for beginning game jitters from both teams on the first drives. Ohio State may get lucky and have an early defensive score. LSU will come out after the half and take over. This game will see Ohio State scoring 17 to LSU putting up 34 points. LSU will be celebrating midway through the 4th quarter. Ohio State comes oh so close for the second time in a row.

To the first commenter John, Michigan may have beat Arkansas, but the SEC went 7-3 in bowl games this year-the Big Ten 3-5.

Being called a dim bulb by an anonymous person is insulting. Oh well, I had the last laugh.

Looks like LSU may be celebrating midway through the 4th quarter

I am actually an Oregon fan, and alumnus. Watching the game right now at Halftime, LSU scoring 24 unanswered seems like it's going as scripted. Sure, there still is another half though.

Anthony - That was a home game for Florida, just like tonight's game will be for LSU.

i think lsu is in trouble because ohio state beat youngstown pretty bad and the illini is clearly superior to lsu and they could only beat the buckeyes by a couple of scores

Thank you John. LSU's losses were not to great teams either. Arkansas is not good. They got blown out in their bowl game by Missouri. Mentucky, good, but not even close to great by any means. They lost six games this year. And Michigan really would have ad about fifty points if Mike Hart had not fumbled.

Just watch, the SEC will get a first hand preview of next years Heisman winner, BEANIE WELLS.

As a total EEELLLSSSUUU fan, I can appreciate the article, and the below comments. However, one thing about the article; "this year the SEC most would say was the toughest conference?" How about MOST every year, in the last decade. Everyone knows, the SEC IS the conference to measure up-either west or east sec teams, and all together. But look out for OSU this championship, they've something to make up for considering how embarrassed they were last year. Prediction, once and for all LSU shows that they don't "share" any top billing with any other Univ.-not USC, and surely not OSU. They take home another championship trophy.

John, Michigan is the #2 team in the Big-10, and Florida is the #4 team in the SEC, and the game was very close. That's how the Big-10 matches up to the SEC.

This is the analysis of a dim bulb. Typical SEC tripe. Oops, weak Michigan just beat the dueling Heisman boys and their spectacular speed, conference, coach, barbeque, and of course NASCAR.
