Be More Pacific Shower Cream from Bath & Body Works

Never Again...

Lori Leidig
I love Bath & Body Works. To be more specific, I like their True Blue Spa line a great deal. I do not, however, like anything at all in the Island Getaway line. This Be More Pacific shower cream is not the worst of that line, but it is not nearly as nice as most shower creams I've used...

I was looking for a fairly scent-less body lotion actually, and the clerk was just sooo raving about the Island line and suggesting I should get that. I was skeptical, but let myself be talked into a set of the stuff anyway. I'm a sheeep.

So. I got talked into buying a nice little clear zippered bag for traveling. In this bag was 3 of the Island Getaway things. I think I paid about $15 for the set, and have no idea how much each goes for separately, nor do I care. It's crap. (ok I looked it up, it's a ridiculous $15 for 8oz) Look here, you can buy Tone at Wal-mart for a third or fourth of that price and it works 10 times as well... and smells so much better too.

The Be More Pacific shower cream is 2oz worth of pineapple-ly smelling blue cream. It was used up within one week because it just hasn't got any lastability to it. There is little sudsing and it just like totally dissolves off the bath sponge before you've even washed both arms. It takes sooo much each shower to do that job that even if I did like that sickeningly sweet smell, I would not buy it again.

The key ingredient in Be More Pacific shower cream is Monoi Oil, whatever that is. It is suppose to be: an ingredient used by the best island spas for its deeply moisturizing, supremely soothing effects. (from their own website). Wellll ummm NO. While it didn't exactly dry my skin out like some products do, it didn't especially do anything to make it softer either. Nor was it in any way soothing. It was quite the opposite. Having to use so much of it each time is annoying. And aggravating. In fact, it makes me want to slap the folks who designed this product. Definitely not soothing. No.

Love the travel bag for the shower items I will keep with me, do not like the products inside it.

Two stars for Be More Pacific shower cream, only because it is slightly better than it's companion, some kinda worthless heated shower gel (gone in 2 days, same size). My advice is to just avoid this marketing gimmick of an Island line and stick with the original True Blue Spa line.

Sorry to disagree, but I love that shower gel! My skin has never felt so soft.. and the scent does remind me of all those lovely island scents: pinacoladas, gardenia flowers, and coconut tanning oil. The suds is wonderful... I used a body scrunge, and it was great. I really dont know why you were so disappointed. Overall, its been one of the best shower creams I have ever used.

So, Be More Pacific did not transport you to that Pacific fantasy island, in spite of the oean and sky blue color or the pineapple-ly (cool word!) scent. Bummer. Maybe if you share this article, Bath and Body Works might invite you to a future testing party?! :)

OK... I guess I'll steer clear of this one. Thank you for the thorough review!

I can smell it all the way over here!

Great review! At least you got a little travel bag out of the deal. I hate when sales people rope me in, I always walk away, bags in hand, and kicking myself in the rear. I'll keep away from this line, thanks!

Glad I never tried that one.

LOL. Great, honest review. Sounds like the sales person was either getting incentive for selling that product or had sniffed one too many pineapple lotions.

Will stay away from it. Didn't like it when you mentioned it was almost scentless. Sorry, I like mildly scented lotions.
