Are you tired of the same Fourth of July celebrations every year? Traditions are great but sometimes we are in need of something new and different. There are many different Fourth of July events and celebrations planned all across America. Do you want to be a part of something new and fun? If this applies to you then you should check out Doublehead Resort's first annual Star Spangled Fourth of July Spectacular. This is the first of many more events like this to come. The event is sponsored by Doublehead Resorts and Big River Broadcasting Station.

This is a family event. There will be activities for persons of all ages. There will even be a toddler section! No need for babysitters. The entire family is welcome to come!

The festivities will begin at 10:00 with the raising of the American flag and the singing of the National Anthem. There will be a complete line up of music throughout the entire day. The entertainment will feature artists such as the Jake Landers Band, The Wilsons, Trinecia Hall Butler, Gary Nichols (country music's new guitar singer), and Billy Lawson. There will even be an open mic talent search and karaoke contest from twelve to one.

The celebration will feed both lunch and supper. There is no need to leave the celebration. Everything that you need will be there! Lunch will be hot dogs and hamburgers from 11 to 2:30 and supper will feature a BBQ plate with all of the trimmings will be served from 5 to 7. Both meals are dine-in or carry out. If you have to work, stop by and pick-up your lunch!

There is sure to be an activity that you will want to be involved in. The line-up of events will include an antique car show, cottage decorating contest, volleyball and horseshoe pitching, watermelon eating contest, beauty contest, boat parade, fireworks and various give aways.

Cost is not a problem. Admission is only $6.00 for adults, $3.00 for children, and children under one are admitted for free. You do not have to worry about finding a parking space and having to walk long distances like with many Fourth of July celebrations. Parking is $10 per vehicle and there will be a shuttle bus to carry guests from the parking area to the event.

This is a first annual event. Be there and make history with Town Creek!
