Be Still and Know

Janis I. Monroe
Amidst the noises of the day
The sounds of the phone, the radio, the TV
There exists a fragile serenity, yet unbroken by mortal stray
It is not hard to find
Simply leave all your fancy gadgets behind
And make your way outside...
For days are precious and often too few
To enjoy the gifts I have given to you

Close your eyes and be still...
Feel My protective arms enfold you
Relax and clear your mind
Allow Me a visit that is long overdue
To live in your heart for all time

Focus on Me, the Bringer of Life
For most are full of strife
And forget that I am here
Let the worries of the world fly free and disappear

All I ask now is that you...

Be still and know that I am the Present
The Creator of the peace you feel
Be still and know I am God, your Father
Through Me all things will be

Be still and listen...
To the winds rustling the trees
Be still and listen...
To the heart-lifting songs of the birds
Be still and listen...
To the animals when they stir
For every sound that nature makes
Has abounded from Me from within

Be still and know that I am The Voice
The Maker of all sounds that you hear
Be still and know I am Comfort
I will always whisper that I am near

Be still and know that I am the Breath of Life
The Designer of all you are able to feel
Be still and know I am strength
And I will always be there
My children, now open your eyes
And behold the light of the world I have made
The sun, the moon, and the stars am I
Unfiltered by darkness's serenade
I am in the sky, the ground, and all beings in between
I am even in you, if you will only believe...

Be still and know that I am Vision
The Builder of all things you see
Be still and know I am Love
Waiting patiently for you to come to Me

I am all theses things and many more
But most importantly I am your Friend
Keeping you in My heart forevermore
