Beach Huts: A Great Option for a UK Holiday

Malcolm Tatum
One of the hot items this summer is the acquisition of a beach hut. These wonderful seaside dwellings may not come with gas and electricity or other sorts of amenities, but they do represent a wonderful opportunity for anyone who wants to visit the seaside on a budget.

Depending on where you choose to spend your seaside vacation, you may be able to enjoy a daily rental on the beach hut for a fraction of what a beach house or even the most modest of hotel rooms would cost. In some cases, local municipalities own the huts and make amenities such as shower facilities and water closets available in the area. Generally, there are a number of restaurants and other eateries within easy distance of the huts, making it possible to enjoy your time without stopping to cook or clean up.

For people with the resources, it is also possible to purchase a beach hut as a permanent investment. The hut can easily be leased out when you don't want to use the dwelling for your own holiday time. This makes it possible to not only save money when you want to get away, but to actually make money when you don't.

Keep in mind that unlike beach homes, not all lenders will extend a mortgage on a beach hut. You may find it necessary to take out a secured loan using your main home or other assets as collateral. However, it would probably be a good idea to rent a hut for one or two holidays, just to make sure you and your family do find holidays of this type to your liking.
