Beach Thought: A Poem

Scott Bauer
A forgotten lad

On a forgotten shore

Walking along

Content to explore

He traipses upon the sand and weed

Letting the mighty tide take the lead

Steadily he streams

A persistent flow

Tears of sorrow from within

Now alone, he allows his emotions to go

His father's father spoke once

On life's cruel demise

One great circle, said the man

Youth doesn't understand - but tries

Thinking of his years past

He comes to a conclusion

At long last

Accepting that his mother is gone

And yet still remains

He chooses to stop the plentiful tears

And just carry her memory along
