Beanie Sigel's The Solution Well Worth the Two-Year Wait

The Reviewer
Beanie Sigel is one of the most controversial artists in rap music. He has almost always delivered very solid music, but his legal issues and bad marketing have always hurt his chances at super stardom. Two years after releasing his last album, The B. Coming, Beanie is back with his fourth album, The Solution. Will The Solution be worth the wait?

The first single off The Solution is All The Above featuring R. Kelly. The track is produced by hit makers The Runners. The song is catchy and has definite radio potential. The song is one of stronger tracks on the album and one of the most commercially friendly records in Beanie Sigel's career. R. Kelly delivers a solid chorus to add to the track.

On Gutted, Beanie is joined by label mate Jay-Z. Beanie delivers the chorus and two verses. Jay-Z finishes out the track with the final verse. Jay delivers the strongest verse about "fake rappers" in the game nowadays.

On the Rockwilder produced Pass The Patron; Beanie is joined by Diddy, Ghostface Killah and Peedi Peedi. The song is another one of the more commercial tracks on the album. This song might feature the most unique guest appearance from Diddy; instead of his trademark energetic ad-libs, Diddy is found on the track singing. The vocal performance is better than expected. Peedi Peedi and Ghostface both deliver solid verses.

The Dre & Vidal produced Judgment Day features rock legend Ozzy Osbourne. The song features a very different rock inspired beat. The Ozzy Osbourne feature is very solid. This song will appeal to a completely different market than a traditional Beanie Sigel song.

Dear Self also produced by Dre & Vidal teams Beanie with pop-rock singer James Blunt. The song samples James Blunt's song No Bravery. The song is one of the most introspective songs in hip hop in a long time. The song is a must listen for any hip hop fan.

Scarface and Raheem DeVaughn join Sigel on the Reefa produced track Rain (The Bridge). The beat is very solid and the verses from Beanie and Scarface make the song a hit. The only thing missing from this song is a Jay-Z cameo to relive the trio's past success.

Bout That finds Sigel finding the intensity that is almost completely missing from rap nowadays. You can feel every word that Beanie spits on the track which adds to the authenticity of him as an artist.

You Ain't Ready For Me featuring Styles P is one of the harder tracks on the album. The song sounds almost like the two rappers are ready to go to war with the world. The rappers trade lines throughout the solid song.

The Chad West produced I'm In is one of the strongest commercial tracks on the album. The song features a sped up 70's soul sample and shows the softer side of Beanie Sigel. The song features an incredibly catchy sample.

Overall The Solution was well-worth the wait. Beanie Sigel has dropped a very strong rap album with something to appeal to any rap fan. Overall The Solution gets 8 out of 10. If you are a fan of Beanie Sigel make sure you pick up The Solution when it is available in stores on December 11th.
