Bearded Iris - Haiku

J. Ellen Fedder
One of my favorite flowers is the Bearded Iris. Wherever I've lived it's one of the first bulbs I plant. The colors are gorgeous, almost royal, and the flower reminds me of childhood and happy days. Great grandma had plenty of Bearded Iris growing in her garden at the old stone house. Even my mother made a place for Bearded Iris in her flowerbeds.

Now that spring is here, Bearded Iris flower in my garden. Here is a single verse mixed media haiku about this stunning flower.

Iris blooming proud
Clusters of gold in violet--
Amid spring showers
