Beat Belly Button Odor

There's a source for odor on the body that may not get much attention. If it does stink it may go unnoticed unless you touch it with a finger and then smell your finger. The location for this particular stench is the belly button.

Out-belly buttons still need a good cleaning but are much easier to clean and will be less likely to spew out a displeasing smell. In-belly buttons, the deeper they are, pose a greater risk for odor because they are harder to clean and dry out.

Why does a belly button stink? Some reasons for this are sour bath water, it doesn't dry out from sweat, a Jean, pant, short or skirt band makes it sweat, intestines-the gut may or may not leak odor into the belly button.

Since odor can be caused from water or sweat that gets trapped in the belly button helping to keep it dry can be attempted by applying similar methods to keep other parts of the body dry.

Baby or body powder can be tapped into the belly button.

Baking soda may also be used and is a plus for being an odor absorber.

Roll on deodorant is probably one of the most effective ways to keep a belly button dry and odor free. All you have to do is roll a cotton swab over the roll on deodorant and apply it inside the belly button.

To help eliminate or mask existing belly button odor body spray, cologne or perfume can be sprayed inside or put on a cotton swab to dab inside the button.

Vinegar can lighten the odor just use the same method of spraying or cotton swabbing.

While using the same method of application, rubbing alcohol is another way to lessen odor. Rubbing alcohol can dry out the skin so be careful when using it frequently.

When using vinegar, rubbing alcohol, body spray, cologne or perfume, things that can leave liquid trapped in the belly button be sure to wipe out the liquid. A dry cotton swab will work. Insert a dry end of the cotton swab into the belly button and let it absorb the moisture. Gently roll the swab around to touch the sides. Use the other end of the cotton swab to complete removing liquid and moisture from the belly button or to make sure it is dry. It may take more than one-cotton swab. A wash cloth can be used to dry an inside belly button but it will be harder too completely dry since the cloth may not go all the way down to the bottom of the button.
