As the saying goes, "Too much of anything is good for nothing". When it comes to Stress, its good to some extent for our body as it helps our body to function at its best. Nonetheless, stress which is little too much could take a physical, as well as mental, toll to your body. Depression or anxiety can be prevented by correct management of our stress. More stress can even lead to nervous breakdowns.

So how can you manage stress? Here are some small tips for your big problem.

First of all, you will need to make a list of things to do.

It is always very important to write down everything that seems to be overwhelming. Whenever you find some time just make a things-to-do-list, it makes much easier to manage than having errands all crumpled up in your head. By this you come to know which task is important and which is not. Writing all the tasks, and putting up a specific schedule and time to do them, helps you manage activities one chunk at a time. Crossing out the activity that has been accomplished is very rewarding and will actually help you feel more relaxed when doing the other tasks.

One work at a time.

Focus all your attention specifically on one task which helps you finish it fast and better. It helps you not to feel panicky about the other undone or to-do tasks. Thinking about the undone tasks only adds unnecessary stress and could even hamper in doing the task at present.

Check out which is more important.

Do not expend too much energy on activities that are currently not important and can be done later. This gives you some time to relax and you can bounce up with more energy. By this you can do the things more peacefully and important work is always completed first.

Delegate, ask for some help.

You need not do all the things at once, and need not do everything by yourself. You can get some help, ask for help or you can pay for help. Whenever there is a feeling of being overwhelmed that is cropping up, hire somebody to mow the lawn or have a sitter for your children. The feeling of being pressed to finish the tasks on time will somehow be eliminated if tasks are delegated. It takes off unnecessary worry and anxiety. Moreover, it is easy for you to check on how things are, rather than worrying yourself sick doing everything by yourself, all at once.

Talk to some one close to you.

When it comes to mental stress, you can get along with it only with others help. Just talk to some friend who is very close to you or some relative. When you let it all go from your mind you really feel better and feel relaxed. Mental stress rather more dangerous than physical stress you can also have a nervous breakdown. Acknowledge your accomplishments, no matter how big or small, is an effort that is necessary before going on to the next tasks. It reduces stress and could make you even more happier in doing the next task.

Do some exercise or go for a brisk walk.

Do anything to put your mind off work, at least for sometime. Effective exercise is the best stress reduction technique available. You can go for a walk or do some exercise, this not only reduces stress but makes you fit. Exercise causes release of chemicals called endorphins in to the blood stream which give you the feeling of happiness and positive affect to your body.

So, the essence of the current discussion is to let your self relax and be cool. A lifestyle like this makes you healthy, happy and a lot more generative.
