Encrusted crystals
Not even aware of Earth Day
Outlived the dinosaurs
Knowingly, see our feet of clay.
Lives without pretension
Here, maybe, long after we're gone
Our moments a flicker in time?
While the 'dumb' insects always shone.

Amazing photography. At first I thought you were going to take me to photos of cockroaches, but these pictures were both fascinating and ugly (not a bug lover). Great poem.
