Beautiful Body N Soul Moisturizer Hair Lotion

For years I have wondered whether pink oil moisturizer is a good product. The reason I've wondered this is because when it came out; everybody said what a great product it is. There were also a lot of advertisements. To be honest, the smell has never been very appealing. I love the color pink; but the smell has always been very medicine-like and the oil has always been heavy. I've always wanted to try it; but I always hesitated because products with water in them cause the hair to revert back to its original state even if you have a relaxer. My hair's original state is not straight. It's curly; and for much of my life; I've wanted to keep my hair pretty straight. So the idea of the pink oil moisturizer for regular afro hair styling always baffled me. I always wondered who used it and for what.

I know that there are a few different pink oil moisturizers on the market. So I'm not sure of the results of Luster's Pink Oil Moisturizer--the original one. But, I'm not willing to risk the money on something so uncertain.

The moisturizer I used contains mink oil, aloe vera, sunscreen and pro-vitamin B5. I liked the idea of the pro-vitamin B5, and the mink oil. Since I was able to buy it for $1; I decided to take it home and try it. The first ingredient is mineral oil and then there are some additional ingredients that confused me. It has beeswax, aloe vera, DMDM, hydantoin and even further down it has the vitamin E, shea butter and other oils and fragrances and colors.

As far as using this product in my hair. I have a texturizer in my hair. My hair texture is about a 3B. This product could be useful for conditioning the hair; but the smell of it is an intense turn off. I mean I honestly don't want to smell like that. I don't personally mind the smell. But, I know many people find the sort of smell that this moisturizer smells like to be very medicinal and unappealing. It would also be a smell that would conflict with a perfume or fragrance I was wearing.

As far as the moisturizing capabilities, I just feel that this product is weird. It's just so thick and kind of sticky. Also, I've never really met anybody who likes and uses pink oil moisturizer. That's not to say there aren't people who do. But, it's just this weird heavy stuff that will make your hair revert back to it's natural state if you have any curl at all. I guess you can use it for conditioning if you don't mind reversion, but I'm sure that it will make any hair texture sticky and kind of gooey. I guess it will protect your hair somewhat. Most forms of grease will. But, overall it's just not an appealing way to moisturize your hair. And, I still wonder who uses it and if anyone has had any good results from using it.
