Beautiful Flowers for Winter Weddings

As every woman knows, a girls wedding day is the most special day of her life. We think of that day from the time we're a little girl dressing up in our moms white lace tablecloth and dreaming of the day we'll meet prince charming and embark on our own magical adventure. However very few women dream of their day taking place during the cold months of winter. Most brides desire a sunny, warm location with lots of colorful vibrant flowers. But in the past 10 years, winter weddings have become increasingly more and more popular. And, though not as common as the spring or summer wedding, the winter wedding can still be a spectacular event with the right selection of colorful, fragrant winter flowers. Keeping your wedding in line with the winter seasonal theme is very simple. And with just a few inexpensive decorations and ideas you can create a wedding atmosphere that is romantic and beautiful, while still being affordable.

Remember that the color white is what every girl hopes to wear on her wedding day. White is a very bridal color and brings to mind winter, snow and frost. Red is a fiery romantic color, combine them together for the perfect color scheme for the winter wedding. And your accent color of choice could be something subtle such as pale pink or deep burgundy. So keeping with those colors what flower would be considered perfect for that winter bride putting together the perfect winter wedding? Well in truth there many winter flowers that would be acceptable. Some of my favorites would have to include the Peony which is imported from Israel or New Zealand and can be bought in many beautiful, vibrant colors. Roses, tulips and baby's breath are also excellent choices for the winter bride. Baby's breath is a beautiful flower that has came along way since the florist used just a sprig to bring out the vibrant colors in arrangements. Now baby's breath can be bought as a bouquet unto itself and also makes an excellent bridal corsage. Each stem is filled with hundreds of large fluffy, white blossoms and these make excellent flowers for a whimsical winter wedding.

Not many people think of bark as being appropriate for a wedding but birch bark can create a feeling and image of walking through the woods on a snowy day. Birch bark has a silvery white covering and is perfect for lining clear glass containers or using as the base for arrangements created combined with other winter flowers. You can use hallowed out birch logs as centerpieces on your wedding buffet table. And this is a simple and also inexpensive project done by cutting holes in the logs to slip the flowers into or gluing flowers directly onto the birch. A strange request some people may have when ordering flowers for their winter weddings is the use of cranberries. Cranberries, long synonymous with winter are becoming more popular in the bridal bouquet during a winter wedding, as well as on the table arrangements. The branches of the Manzanitta tree are also commonly used in winter weddings because of their beauty and style.

They also have a unique shape and are very sturdy so they make excellent arrangements. Orchids are a common choice among brides and can be found in many colors. The orchid is also one of the most affordable and easily found flower in the bridal market so it is one of the most commonly used. However there are ways to make the orchid uniquely yours for your special day. To enhance the style and color of your orchid consider adding some different colored peonies and baby's breath to create an arrangement that is uniquely you. Throw in some cranberries in your table arrangements and you'll have a scheme that people will be talking about long after the wedding is over. You might also accent the orchids using festive and seasonal red berries such as coffee berries or ilex berries. The possibilities of mixing and matching several different flowers and keeping with the winter themed wedding is endless.
